Parshallville Cider Ride

September 15th brought out an invigorated group of Schussmeisters to the Silver Lake Parkway’s Applebee’s
parking lot. We were all entertained when Dan McComb pulled up driving with his helmet already on, as he was
running late. I know I said get here quick, but..... The ride started from Bennett Lk. Road and proceeded south on
dirt roads, got to take those back roads for the views. All went well till we hit (literally) the washboards on O’Connell.
Someone put them there after we drove it the night before. Riding around Lake Shannon was great with the
views and houses to drool over, on to Parshallville and the cider. We made it there and met up with Helen Dilworth
dressed for biking (the motored type), we hope she rides the peddle type with us next time. The riders were able to
buy cider and yummies and pack them in the Sag vehicle driven by my mom. The group returned to Snappers to
have beverages and lunch which were well deserved. Lindsay please remember to bring the camera on the actual trip.
Kudos to Deanna Cunningham for being the Schussmeister from farthest away.

Rex's Lake Party

The color tour, lake party at Rex’s on the 20th was a great time.  If you weren’t there you missed it, obviously.  The day was windy, so of course Rex chose to ride his wind surfer and get carried away, literally!  Tom, Andy and Deanna Cunningham went out on the pontoon to rescue him.  Rex did make it back to his house, which is good, because we all wanted to do our ride.  But, of course we had to pull him out of his dry suit first!  The first Schusmeister to say stop when you get to my waist.  Well, how far did you think we’d go? We proceeded to ride around the lake and did find some colors across the way.  There are some very impressive houses in the vicinity!  We returned to grill and set up eats.  The burgers, chili, and salads were yummy, but, the brownie that Carole made was the hit of the day!  Thanks Carole! We finished watching the game; State did a job on that number 1 team, but just didn’t hang on.  The day was really good and everyone had a great time.

Rochester Cider Ride

It was a great morning for a bike ride and cider stop. As the first group of riders, Lindsay, Dan and Dee arrived in Rochester, we wondered where the rest were. Alas, Tom had slipped with his memory of where to meet and had given Rex the same wrong directions. With the gift of phones, all riders finally met up and took off. The ride out to Lake Orion was busy dogging walkers, other bikers, and this huge pile of .....well, there were sheriffs riding their huge steeds.  Get the picture! Then Tom got a phone call on the ride, so he didn’t make it to Lk. Orion with us. Hope that call was very important, Rex said he’d just hang up. We found our way to the cider mill. Rex was a virgin cider rider, so he bought lots of donuts. After the guys had their fill, we took off again for town and had a real lunch at the Microbrewery,  where we watched the games on the multiple sets. Hm, can’t remember the scores.
